Controller Job Description
A Network Administrator, or a Systems Administrator, maintains and coordinates computer networks and systems. Their duties include building and maintaining websites, monitoring, and optimizing server connectivity, and installing hardware and software.
Network administrators are IT professionals responsible for maintaining network connectivity. They focus on setting up network equipment and ensuring that their network infrastructure can support user activities. Network administrators monitor overall activity and demands on the network to identify vulnerabilities or strange activity.
A Network Administrator supervises a computer network and its operations. They make sure that server’s function properly, allowing customers and employees to communicate easily with each other, coordinate their activities, and take care of essential tasks. Network Administrators’ day-to-day activities often vary, including helping new users get started, looking for threats or errors on the network, and upgrading software.
Typical duties of a Controller
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Ensuring the integrity of data storage and backup systems
• Using security tools to protect the network from hackers, malware, and other threats
• Anticipating problems and resolving them before they impact users when possible
• Testing software and reviewing application logs
• Adding, removing, or updating user information like passwords or internal email addresses
• Attending meetings and leading computer training sessions
Essential skills:
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Good planning and organizational skills
• Extensive understanding of computer operating systems and programming languages such as C++, Java, HTML, Linux, Pascal, Oracle, and Delphi
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.
